Unraveling the Sweater Vest

Posted: December 31, 2010 in Football, Uncategorized

As a born and bred Wolverine Fan, I’ve always prided myself of despising all things “Ohio State”, but today, I almost feel sorry for their fans. The Sweater Vest is leading them blindly into New Orleans led by Terrelle Pryor and the rest of the 2011 Suspended Buckeyes.

For the life of me, I can’t believe Jim Tressel honestly believes the “Pledge” that the 5 players made to return to Ohio State next fall to sit for half a season rather than pursue their lucrative $$$ futures in the NFL. Tressel and Sugar Bowl officials should be ashamed of themselves for claiming “the integrity” of the Bowl is the reason they asked the NCAA to allow the players to suit up against Arkansas. The only reason they are being allowed to play is that OSU, The Sugar Bowl, and the NCAA itself want the $$$ they will sell before, during, and after the game as a result of being able to market OSU players.

At the end of the day, when Pryor gets his Draft Projection, a pledge to a college coach will mean nothing, an NCAA decision will once again mean nothing … and Jim Tressel will have lost all credibility with Fans, Media, and Recruit Families. As a Wolverine Fan, I LOVE this in one aspect, but in another; I can’t stand that such a Great rivalry is being ruined by an Ignorant Sweater Vest!!!
